Dog Skin Problems and its causes

There are many different Dog Skin Problems. Some are very serious in nature due to the intensity of infection. The dog owner finds it very difficult to deal with the skin problems of dog. The hair, skin and the coat are the three very important factors for indication of skin health.  The skin problem arises due to many factors. When a parasite attacks, the fleas, mites and ticks attack and results in itching.  High moisture content at the skin also produces itching behavior in dog, which ultimately results in the Hot Spot diseases. The infection in dogs adopts two forms. These can be contagious in nature or they can be non-contagious.

Sarcoptic scabies is a form of contagious infection at the skin. It is caused by an attack from a parasite. Mites, lice, and ticks can produce contagious infection. Another most important cause of skin disorders in dog is the skin allergy. One common type of allergy in dog is atopy. The dogs are allergens to many things, which include the pollen, grass, shampoo, dust, and cleaner.   Symptoms of skin allergy are rashes around the infectious site, itching and continuous scratching by the dog.  Red ear is also an indication of hot spot skin disease.

A scratched area on the skin is vulnerable to any bacterial attack. Pyoderma in dog results in infection with pus. Ringworm causes scratched skin, with loss of hair at the site of infection. Ringworm attack is a kind of fungal infection. Many times hormonal imbalance also produces skin diseases.
