Characteristics of Hot Spots on Dogs


A dog with a hot spot area is represented by sever inflammation. The inflammation and infection sometimes results in deeper spot. A superficial spot is easy to cure. Dermatologist calls this disease with the name of acute dermatitis. Thick coat is the most suitable and favorable site for dog spot. It is necessary to dry the coat completely after washing the dog, when moisture retains within the coat due to improper drying, the itching and scratching are two most important results of moisture. The itching causes scratch formation and then the skin develop the spot with a pus. Red area around the spot with bad smell and hair loss is a clear indication of hot spots on dogs.
